Dileep went on Facebook to announce the birth of his daughter. He wrote:

Dileep and Kavya were a very beloved couple on screen before knotting in 2016. Before the wedding, the media and fans were obsessed with their business for a decade.

For years, Kavya Madhavan was accused of being "the other woman" in Dileep's life, when she was married to Manju Warrier. Their marriage was the culmination of many years of gossip that ultimately influenced the couple's decision. Meenakshi, daughter of Dileep and Manju, currently lives with her father. Dileep said that his marriage to Kavya took place with the approval of his daughter.
