Our readers know that the High Court of Telangana gave the signal to Green Signal for the release of the film controversial Ram Gopal Varma, Lakshmi's NTR. One person filed a motion for restitution with the Telangana High Court requesting that the film be stopped until the elections, which may pose public order problems in Andhra Pradesh.
The court asked the government to give its opinion on the matter. The attorney general, representing the state government, went on to state that there was no public policy problem as such and that the police would ensure that the release of the film does not pose any problems. With the government's badurance, the High Court invalidated the petition.
The government's badertion before the High Court allowed the cancellation of the film's release. This looks like a KCR ploy to undermine the prospects of the TDP in the upcoming elections. Lakshmi's NTR is scheduled for March 29, two weeks before the vote for AP Elections on April 11.
