Forty-three all-out. How did it happen? How does Bangladesh explain being fired for such a derisory score? How do they explain that only 112 deliveries were delivered, the second least important in the history of tests? Kemar Roach, 5/8, was the main destroyer, but they hardly seemed to have any idea of the pace and rebound of any attack from the West Indies.
And if that was not enough, they were almost as miserable their second innings, falling to 62/6 out of the 18 overs that they faced before stumps on the second day. Those who thought that the humiliation of their first run was an anomaly was wrongly wrong, as Bangladeshi drummers insisted on their ineptitude to challenge conditions abroad by surrendering once again. And think that the injury forced Roach from the attack during the second innings.

They lost 144 points in their second round of play, and it took a 64-minute sleight of hand from Nurul Hasan on the third morning to get there. This time, the chief destroyer was Shannon Gabriel, who, after a first round without a gantry, bulldozed his 5/77, his third shot at five wickets in three tries. Jason Holder, in support, took 3 wickets for just 30 points and Miguel Cummins finished the innings with 2/16.

No one would dare to claim that Bangladesh has the strongest battering unit in the game, but surely the likes of Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah are better than that. They are the ones who are responsible for getting the most points for their team, but they never seemed to get much and even the fastest bowling player. West Indies, Kemar Roach, seemed more accomplished when he became a bat. particularly impressive. As good as they were against Sri Lanka in the recently completed series, they were better against Bangladesh. Gabriel continued maneuvering menacingly, playing with more speed and accuracy than he had before this season at home.
Holder really manages to carve out a place in the day and night game in Sri Lanka. . His latest outswing is both beautiful and deadly, almost like Dale Steyn with the new ball, although the South African does it at a much higher speed.
Miguel Cummins played so badly during the Sri Lanka series that everyone – except the selectors, that is – was convinced that he would lose his place for the Bangladesh series. But he persisted with it and there was a marked improvement in his bowling. He returned to his old habit of canceling a wicket because he had overstepped the bowling, but his accuracy was better and he was less reluctant to throw the ball.
The total of 404 of the West Indies has proved more than adequate. Their first order, a source of much concern during the Sri Lanka series, was a few races this time with Kraigg Brathwaite who compiled a 121 patient, his seventh Test 100.
And yet, it must be said that the Bangladeshi bowling was far from threatening. A little less than a year ago, they sidelined a good team of Australian hitters for 217 and 244. But it was at Shere Bangla 's national stadium in Dhaka on a surface facilitation round. Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound required penetrating sewing, and visitors were lacking in this area.

Nurul Hasan is 24 years old and is doing his second test. His second 64 innings, made from 74 balls, showed that races could be made under these conditions against these players. Rubel Hossain, a 10-year-old drummer, accompanied him for 55 races, making himself 16 and surviving 32 deliveries. Together, they add a slight respectability to a general depressing performance of tourists.
The action is now moving to Jamaica for the second test starting July 12 and there is a good chance that the grbad remains on Sabina Park's ground. Bangladesh will have to make a better demonstration.
