KGF: Chapter 1 was published in India on December 21, 2018 and was a resounding success. The film had one of the biggest openings for a Kannada film since it was presented in over 2,400 theaters across the country. Despite competition from Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Zero, KGF would have earned more than 200 billion rupees worldwide.
