Kiara Advani reveals, "Aaliya is my name, Salman Khan told me to change it because of Alia Bhatt"

Kiara Advani debuted at Bollywood in 2014 with the movie Fugly. However, she got only real recognition, after her stint in Lust Stories. While she was appearing in Voot's Season 2 Feet Up with the Stars, the actress revealed that her real name was Aaliya and that she changed it on the insistence of Salman Khan.

Said Kiara: "Aaliya is my name. Salman Khan suggested I change it because of Alia Bhatt because there can not be two actresses of the same name in Bollywood. He suggested the change, but "Kiara" is the name I chose. Now, even my parents started calling me Kiara.

She then explained how she captured the role in Lust Stories without auditioning. The actress said: "Karan Johar has an eye for that. He spots an interpreter and he knows how to do it. When she filmed the scene in which she was using a vibrator, she remembers Karan's words: "Do not caricature, be brutal and do it. It's a fun scene, but do not do it.

On the labor front, Kiara was last seen during a special appearance in Kalank's Karan Johar, which failed to stand up to the cash register. Then she has Kabir Singh in front of Shahid Kapoor, who is an official remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy. The film is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and will be released on June 21st. |
