Last sacraments according to Karnad's wish

The latest sacraments of the famous Kannada author and Jnanpith Award winner, Girish Karnad, will be a discreet and private affair, with family members and close friends. The members of Karnad's family decided to complete the last rites according to his wish.

According to Karnad's wish, no public ceremony, no funeral procession, no government honor, and no religious custom will be followed during the last rites at the Kalpalli Electric Crematorium in Baiyappanahalli.

Following the death of Karnad, the state government declared a day off and three days of mourning in the state.

Upon hearing the sad disappearance, thousands of people went to Karnad's residence to pay their last respects. However, they were forbidden to see the body. The family asked people to pay their last tribute to the crematorium.
