Mark Ruffalo is loved for his powerful rendition of Hulk for MCU. He appeared for the first time as a Hulk in the movie The Avengers in 2012. He replaced actor Edward Norton who was playing for the first time the role of giant green superhero for Marvel.

Even before the film, the actor Lou Ferrigno had also interpreted the character of Dr. Bruce Banner, aka Hulk. Lou played Hulk in 1978 for the CBS television series The Incredible Hulk. As reported by Comicbook.com, Lou Ferrigno said that he could not take Mark Ruffalo seriously as a Hulk.

Lou stated that Mark was a wonderful actor. He added that different actors had played Hulk and that he preferred Bill Bixby and Edward Norton. And while he's a great actor and he's mixing with the Marvel aspect of Avengers, Lou said he could not take Mark Ruffalo seriously like Hulk.

Ferrigno added that Bill had this intensity and that one could feel in danger. But with Disney and MMarvel, the character took a different direction. He thinks these Hulk can not be taken as seriously as the original series.
