The two actors recently collaborated on the film "Kannathil Muthamittal" by Mani Ratnam.
Simran, whose last Tamil release is Petta in front of superstar Rajinikanth, will play the lead role in the film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect . The film, based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former ISRO scientist from Kerala, is written, produced and directed by Madhavan. He would also play Nambi in the movie. Simran plays the female lead in the film which is shot simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and English.

He revealed that Simran had been hired to play the role of Ms. Nambi Narayanan in the film. The duo have already worked together for Kalachander Paarthale Paravasam (2001) and Kannathil Muthamittal by Mani Ratnam (2002.) The status of Madhavan refers to their character names in by Kannathil Muthamittal . and then won six National Film Awards, three Filmfare Awards South, seven Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and the Best Film Award at six international film festivals.
Madhavn let long strands of hair and beard grow to fit the role of Nambi, who was falsely implicated in the 1994 ISRO mock case. He also revealed that he needed 14 hours to turn into a character that he interprets. He will be seen under three different looks in the film and suffered a huge physical attack Nambi is now 77 years old.
The technical crew of this film includes Sam CS for music, Gopi Amarnath for cinematography and Sathish Surya for editing.
The film will tell the story of Nambi, arrested by Kerala police then interrogated by the CBI, while he was working for ISRO in 1994. He was cleared by the court in 1998 and after years of fighting. In his case, Nambi recently received an allowance of 50 lakhs.
