The 57-year-old actor's body, which was last seen in Govinda's "Rangeela Raja" released last month, was found in a state of decomposition from his home in Andheri, Yari Road, police said.

The body was sent to the nearby Cooper Hospital for post mortem examination.

Anand was suspected of having alcohol problems and lived alone, his wife living in Moscow, police said.

Although the reason for the death of the actor is unclear, the hospital's doctors said that the body had been transported from his home in a decomposed state.

According to doctors, the reason for his death can only be determined after the autopsy.
