Filmmaker Karan Johar hosted a house party for his Kalank crew on the day of the film's release. The film started at about 21.60 crores of rupees amidst mixed reviews. The stars of the film, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, are among the celebrities of Karan's residence. Shweta Bachchan Nanda and directors Zoya Akhtar and Ayan Mukerji were also spotted during the evening.

Deepika Padukone, who was stationed in Delhi for the filming of her next film, Chhapaak, was spotted at the capital's Indira Gandhi International Airport in a black top and high-waisted jeans. The actor plays a survivor of an acid attack in the film and was seen in a disfigured avatar on the plateaux.
Meanwhile, actor Vivek Oberoi was sighted at the Mumbai airport. Sidharth Malhotra, who has just finished filming his film Jabariya Jodi with Parineeti Chopra, was also seen at the airport with his family.
