Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is confident that the club will sign at least one more player before the closing of the Premier League transfer window on August 9.

The Portuguese boss has expressed his hopes to sign two new recruits after Liverpool's 4-1 defeat by Liverpool in the pre-season Champions Cup last weekend in the United States.

"I'm confident I'll have one, but I think two I'm not going to get that is not a drama," said Mourinho beIN SPORTS. "In every preseason, it happens the same thing with all the clubs that the manager wants more.

"It's our nature, you always want more for your team but the decisions of the club are different and normally you do not get what you want that happened during my whole life. career.

"So if I have a player until the end of the market, that's fine."

United struggled to impress in pre-season with an uneven team that was exhausted due to injuries and key players resting after the World Cup in Russia. Their only pre-season win came against AC Milan last week.

The club's inconsistent performances led Mourinho to express his frustration several times throughout the US tour, including criticizing individual players and the lack of United's transfer activity.

Goalkeeper Lee Grant, however, rejected the notion that Mourinho is unhappy with the team.

"After what we get from inside (the atmosphere around the camp) was only positive," Grant told Sky Sports. "The messages we receive from the manager are positive and it is important for us to go forward.

"His attitude and behavior around the place is great and it helps us especially when we are under-occupied and we work the hardest."

United are playing Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, Champions of the Champions League, in their next two friendly matches, before hosting Leicester City in first division on August 10.
