Mansi Ahlawat is still unable to believe that she lost even after the medal ceremony. She can barely control her emotions as she explains how it was her dream to win the gold medal. With his father Pawan Ahlawat and his coach Mandeep in the stands, Mansi reached the final with dominant victories but could not overtake the Japanese Akei Hanai in the final that won the technical superiority.

"I would have never thought of losing 10-0." My father and Mandeep are traveling with me and I wanted to win the gold medal I had never fought against the Japanese wrestler before. Mansi says, holding back her tears

The junior championships of Asia in Delhi were Mansi's first event in this category and as the national champion in the 57kg category, she wanted to continue her dominance at the continental level. She did this in the first two bouts of the day by defeating Nadia Narin (10-0) and Zhanerka Assanova (11-0) thanks to technical superiority.

For four years, Mansi, with his sister Khushi , was training at the Chhotu Ram stadium in Rohtak, the same arena where Sakshi Malik trained before his Olympic campaign in Rio.But the fight was not the first sport they went to. Initially, they trained as gymnasts, but their interests Rét was turned into a fight after watching the other girls fight at the stadium. Every day, the sisters walk 10 kilometers to reach the stadium and repeat the evening exercise. Returning home at night, their father Pawan picks them up after he finishes working at his grocery store.

"I wanted to win here, but now I'm going to focus on the Junior World Championship which is still two months, a way, there will be trials for that and I have to win it," she says. Mansi competed at the Cadet World Championships a week ago, where she finished seventh. Earlier this year, she finished silver medalist at the Asian Cadets Championships, after losing against Ozaki Nonoka in the final.

But she will return to Rohtak Stadium after next week after spending the weekend at Sheria Village in Jhajjar District. There is no lack of inspiration for Mansi at the stadium. She saw Sakshi train there and even received some of the Olympic medalist's clothes when they started to fight. She hopes to win a medal at the Olympics someday but for now, a rematch against a Japanese wrestler is the only thing in the mind. Other results
