Mark Hamill proposes a new way to JJ Abrams for Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker himself, recently described a different ending for Star Wars: The Force Awakens that he launched to director JJ Abrams who would have been a moving reminder to A New Hope.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter of the Chatter Awards podcast for his role in History's Knightfall, their discussion eventually focused on Star Wars. During their conversation, Hamill revealed an argument he had given Abrams that would have led to the meeting of Luke, Leia and Han.

"You can always get me in at the end," says Hamill. "But what is? Leia tries to contact me telepathically. She is frustrated because there is no answer, so she rushes to the new Death Star … she's three now … and she almost gets there when she's stopped by two Stormtroopers. Just before his kidnapping, a Stormtrooper turns to the other one and removes it, removes his helmet and says: "Hello, I'm here to help you."

Mark Hamill will soon be appearing as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode IX and, with the Star Wars Celebration this weekend, we hope to learn more about the currently untitled movie to be released in theaters on the 20th. December 2019.
