TV actor Sharad Malhotra is married with fiance Ripci Bhatia during twin wedding ceremonies this weekend. The groom was dressed in a white sherwani paired with a pink shawl and complimented the bride who was ravishing in a pink lehenga while they knotted the knot according to Sikh rituals in a gurudwara.
The couple then married according to Hindu customs, followed by a reception. While Sharad was dressed in a golden sherwani, Ripci joined him in a red lehenga.
The marriage was preceded by a sangeet and a mehendi ceremony, which was attended by their family and friends. Sharad wore kurta pajamas and a pastel-colored bandhgala, while Ripci wore a blue lehenga-choli complete with flower jewelry.
An engagement ceremony also took place on Friday and it turned out to be a romantic affair. While Sharad chose to dress in brown velvet bandhgala-kurta, Ripci shone in a choli of golden lehenga.
The actor had previously told Hindustan Times in an interview: "I've always been phobic about marriage and the world knows it. I like the commitment, but the idea of marriage has given me cold feet. And now that I'm getting married, everyone is in shock … I've seen some bad marriages, but most of the bad thoughts are in your head. I am going ahead in this marriage with a positive atmosphere. "
Speaking of his marriage plans, Sharad said," I feel that the good things in life are happening suddenly. There is a lot of excitement, nervousness and happiness as the date of marriage approaches. There is a lot of work going on and all the preparations for the wedding. So, I'm not getting married yet (laughs). Everyone is waiting for my wedding, including me.
Sharad becomes famous with the TV show Banoo Main Teri Dulhann and then plays the lead role in Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap. He currently plays the lead role in Muskaan in Star Bharat.
