Miz TV – HIT: This is a minor hit for the talk show opening. The Hit is for The Miz's performance once it's been pushed by Roman Reigns to become the "new Miz". The promo that he made at that time on Shane McMahon was very strong. He finds his baby voice. The minor part of this hit is for the party before reign. It was not his best mic job. It was not bad, just ok. It was strange to see how he happened to have a video of Miz chasing Shane last week, ready to leave in case he had to push Miz like that. It was too practical. The end of the segment with Shane preparing for the opening match gave the public a good start.
Lashley & Elias vs. Reigns & Miz – HIT: This opening match was a good match. The disqualification after Shane's interference was logical. The fight that followed was well done, even though it's stupid that Shane recovered so quickly from Reigns' huge dive while the two wrestlers were still injured outside. Miz and Reign standing in the end worked well.
Rollins – Video Styles – HIT: This was a great video about the quarrel between Seth Rollins and AJ Styles leading up to their all-time title match at Money in the Bank. This raw was excessively heavy in video packs, but this one was a good one. The follow-up later in the series with Rollins and Styles giving themselves enough time to talk about the match was also good, including the little video of their match on an independent show many years ago. Although Styles has been looking at this quarrel, there are still two popular babyfaces looking for a huge prize and the WWE is doing super-dancing at this game.
Rawley vs. Crews – MISS: WWE is out and with the hype of Mojo Rawley. They show thumbnails of him talking to himself in the mirror, then stop for a few weeks, then show him again for a week or two, then stop again. He has not been on for a few weeks, so the moment of his return to the ring was questionable. Apollo Crews has not participated in Smackdown since coming to Superstar Shakeup, but was he back to Raw this week? The Wildcard Rule is out of control and eclipses the Superstar Shakeup negatively. Rawley's howls and taunts after the knee injury did not work.
Bliss – Cross – MISS: Alexa Bliss was funny to complain on the phone of the company losing his luggage and obsession with the birth of the baby royal (I'm with her on that!). The problem was the disconnect between Nikki Cross of the past and Nikki Cross on this segment. It was like a totally different character. Bliss manipulated her to take her place in the fatal path later in the series, which is fine, but afterwards Cross smiled to suggest that she had actually manipulated Bliss, but that was not clear. . It was also a disconnect with the way she had acted in the game later, when she had become older.
Signature of the double contract – HIT: It was a big segment. Becky Lynch held the court and played very well in her matches against Lacey Evans and Charlotte Flair at MITB. Evans also did a great job with his microphone work. Charlotte was fine, but not as good as the others. His cadence and vocal timbre are so monotonous and predictable. Give me her script and I could read it exactly how she will end up reciting it in the series. But as I said, she was fine, not bad. The fight at the end worked very well to show that Becky is in great danger at the PPV, and that she must fight them both. One thing I liked about the characters was the way Evans put his hat back in the middle of the fight.
Corbin vs. Ricochet – MISS: It was a hit in terms of the quality of the fight, but a miss for the result. Ricochet did not fully recover from his defeat against Robert Roode a few weeks ago. He is such a talent and a new wrestler who has had a good push from the door in his team with Aleister Black. They were protected for a certain time as a team. Now that he is a wrestler in singles, he has not been one. He was treated more like a jobber. Baron Corbin is what he is. He will never be considered a star. Ricochet could be. There is no way to lose Corbin at this stage, let alone clean.
Reigns Video – MISS: It was a miss on Smackdown and again here on Raw. I will not repeat what I said last week at Smackdown, but I will say that in a show too full of bouquets of videos, it is certainly the one that should have been deleted. Michael Cole should not refer to Reigns as Beacon of Hope. This will not help to support the encouragement of fans who are reluctant to boo him because of his illness, but are still not convinced.
Fatal Four Way – HIT: This was a good four fatal. way to sell the hectic madness that we are likely to see in the MITB ladder match Sunday. Naomi, Cross, Natalya and Dana Brooke played well in the game. Bliss added some fun comments to the game. I do not know what to do with Cross winning. She is not in the game. Should WWE not invite one of the MITB participants here? They wanted Bliss to climb to the top of the ladder after the match, so his substitution win makes sense.
Samoa Joe's Promo – HIT: Samoa Joe's selfie video was a good way to track his scene last week with Dominic Mysterio. Joe plays his role very well. He seems so threatening to Mysterio's family. Unfortunately, the WWE does not protect Joe in the ring, nor in good promotions like this one.
Mysterio against Cesaro – HIT: The backstage segment that organized this match between Mysterio and Cesaro was going well. The match was pretty good, as you can imagine. These are two excellent workers who organize a fun match. The Cesaro swings in the side barriers of the ring were brutal. They worked well together.
Strowman vs. Zayn – HIT: It was a very good episode of Raw and it was a strong conclusion. this last match standing between Braun Strowman and Sami Zayn. They played their part well in telling the story of Zayn who was trying to survive Strowman by running away. The interference of Corbin and Drew McIntyre made sense. The physics they brought to the match with Strowman fighting twice worked. I would prefer to see Zayn in MITB instead of Strowman, so everything was fine for the outcome of the match. Corbin was then in the character by sending Zayn back to Strowman for it to be destroyed at the end. There were some problems. Despite the legal interference, Michael Cole or Renee Young should have shown their indignation at what they did. How are heels supposed to be hot for their actions if the advertisers in the face shrug their shoulders? The other problem is that the baby's alignment is bad for not helping Strowman. I can understand that Ricochet wants Strowman to be no longer in the game, but you would think that he would stay up and that he would do the right thing. Reigns hated Corbin and McIntyre and he would not take advantage of Strowman's loss. So where was he?
