The Miz – HIT: The Miz has always been a stub. Even when he was recently part of the Babyface team with Shane McMahon, you did not really trust him. You did not really believe it. What was his angle? I badumed he was manipulating Shane to get what he wanted. I did not believe what he was saying about his father. Also, as I have mentioned many times here, I continued to attack Miz & Shane for The Usos because of their interesting factor. So, he was a baby, but appeared as a heel. So, it was the first time I really saw it as a face, and it worked. He gave a good performance. The story is in the back, Shane defying Miz instead of the other way around, but once you have gone beyond that, you have to accept the challenge with force. I'm not looking forward to the match because I'm not waiting for a match from Shane. But it was always a strong promotion.
Banks & Bayley vs. IIconics – MISS: This was not a good match. Bayley and Sasha Banks were bad off early when they were trying to make a double move. It seemed like it was their fault. Billy Kay and Payton Royce are honest but not very good workers. They are good enough to provide better performance and be matched with talents such as Banks and Bayley. But that did not happen here. In addition, it will put them in the triple threat of the women's title against WrestleMania, which will make it a fatal match to four. That does not fascinate me.
The KO Show – HIT: This is a minor hit. I'm not sure that's the best role for Kevin Owens, but at least he's been nice here. The way he read the various quotes from Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey was a different way of asking him to ask him questions to rephrase what we had already heard. Making sure that Owens speaks for them was acceptable in this case and then you found the physical side that worked quite well between them. But attention should be focused on Ronda, you know, the real female champion.
Daniel Bryan Promo – HIT: Daniel Bryan made a good promotion on the heel of Kofi Kingston evoking his own past by evoking the idea that Kingston is a B + player. It worked well to warm Bryan while inspiring Kingston to win the Gauntlet match. The problem is that there was not enough pressure on Bryan in the scenario, because the real heel is Vince McMahon.
Gauntlet – MISS: It was not as good as last month's Gauntlet. who launched KofiMania. In this case, you did not know how long Kofi would last in the match. Here you knew that he would arrive at least at the last match. There was no drama in the first four games. Kofi versus Sheamus and Kofi against Cesaro have had a good fight, but that does not matter. The idea that the evil genius Bryan would cause Rowan to be disqualified on purpose to be able to do more harm to Kofi made no sense. Just that Rowan beats him and the glove is finished. It hurt Samoa Joe, the US champion who lost games consecutively. He does not look like a big champion when he loses (even on a roll) against a man who has been fighting for over 40 minutes at that time and who was destroyed by Rowan.
I loved the fact that the wrestlers on the back were all gathered around Kofi. The fact that Miz and A.J. Styles had mentioned that Kofi earlier in the series in his own promos was a good idea. However, where did they have to help Kofi? Advertisers have made it clear that New Day has been banned from the ring. They did not say everyone was banned. Should not one of those babyfaces, especially Mustafa Ali, have come to Kofi's aid after Rowan was DQ'd? The next part of the challenge had not started and Rowan had already lost. So why did not anyone come to stop Rowan's attack? Why did not Rey Mysterio come to attack Joe after his defeat and defeat against Kofi? When they finally reached Randy Orton's "final" segment, Kofi won another victory, but this time, Orton's shoulders were clearly not lowered.
We then arrive at the appearance of Vince McMahon, where he added a sixth wrestler, Bryan, to the Gauntlet after it seemed that Kofi had won the WWE title match at WM. As I said after Vince eliminated Kofi from the title match at Fastlane, why would fans be excited by any moment of apparent hope for Kofi while Vince could take it to new? That's what happened here. Why should fans get excited next week for another chance for Kofi (and why give him another one?). Once the game is played, will the fans really play for Kofi to win the WWE title, or do they expect Vince to come back and overturn the decision? They do so much damage to the product with this too complicated scenario and the terrible use of perverse authority figure. Another problem here is that two weeks before the end of the season, there is no challenger for the WWE Championship. At some point, advertisers should be asking who will face Bryan for the title, if not Kofi? This is so bad. By continuing to delay the title shot, Kofi is actually holding off the match. As I said earlier, the heat is on Vince, not Bryan. When are they really going to focus on Kofi versus Bryan?
The other problem is that by taking more than half of the series for a match that does not happen (for the moment), they do not have it made. a lot to say to most other matches. The Styles interview was good, but that's all we got for the hype of his match against Orton. Where was Asuka? They did not have time to build his screenplay with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. This is another presumed match that has not been announced, but has not had any development this week. Mysterio briefly mentioned that he would face Joe for the American title, but their script really started last week, while Mysterio got the flag of Joe in a first leg match. They do not do much to build this match against the US title WM. They still have not announced a match for the team title. The Raw Team Championship does not deserve to be on WM at this stage. I would have the raw tag teams in the royal battle Andre the Giants. But, the tag division of Smackdown is strong. Usos should have a title match. Where was this story? There were too many problems with the Gauntlet.
