MUMBAI: Authors of Vivek Oberoi-starrer's biography on Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Friday the release of the film nationwide on May 24, the day after the proclamation of the Lok Sabha election results.
The film, titled "PM Narendra Modi", was due out on April 11 but was banned by the Electoral Commission.
In their order last month, the EC had banned the showing of a film during the voting period, stating that any film of this type serving the purpose of an entity or of 39, a political individual should not be displayed in the electronic media.
The EC order came a day before the release of the film.
Producer Sandip Singh said he hoped the movie would run smoothly in movie theaters.
"As a responsible citizen, we respect the law of the land.After many discussions and keeping in mind the curiosity and enthusiasm aroused by the film, we decided to publish it immediately. after the election results of Lok Sabha, "Singh said. in a report.
"We are now publishing our film on May 24, 2019. This is the first promotion of a movie for only four days, I hope nobody has a problem now. with the movie and we hope it's broadcast smoothly this time, "he added.
Directed by Omung Kumar, the film also includes Boman Irani, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Narayanan, Zarina Wahab, Barkha Sengupta and Darshan Kumaar, among others.
Suresh Oberoi and Anand Pandit are the co-producers of the film.
