The painter Claude Monet was especially famous for his impressionist paintings. Only a few of his paintings are still part of the private collection. Recently, one of his paintings from his collections of "haystacks" was sold at a record price.
On Tuesday, the painting was sold at a price of Rs.7,78,61.39,850 ($ 110.7 million), beating the previous record.
The painting, titled "Meules", is an oil on canvas and was completed in 1890. It is the first work of impressionist art to have crossed the bar of 100 million USD.

The painting, Mueles, is one of 25 paintings in a series illustrating chimneys. of harvested wheat that had belonged to Monet's neighbor.
This was just one of four paintings in this year's auction.
The auction house did not reveal the name of the buyer, who beat five other bidders in just 8 minutes
