Former chairman of Central Film Certification Board (CBFC), Pahlaj Nihalani, on Monday displaced the Bombay High Court after the CBFC ordered several cuts in his film Rangeela Raja, due out on November 16.
Nihalani, who produced the film, in his motion filed by lawyer Ashok Saraogi, requested instructions to overturn the CBFC's order of 2 November 2016 and grant the necessary certification, either Universal (U) or Universal with Adult (AU), for the film.
Nihalani argued that, under the current system, after the screening of the film, if any party was found to be objectionable, the producer had every opportunity to justify his case and / or dialogue.
Nihalani stated that in his case, no such possibility had been offered to him. The CBFC suggested "unwanted cuts" in the film, he said.

The petition states that all films screened in cinemas must be erased by the censorship commission, for the purpose
