Nayanthara participated in the movie Rajinikanth-AR Murugadoss

Actor Nayanthara was invited to play the female lead in the upcoming title of superstar Rajnikanth movie. The actor, also nicknamed Lady Superstar by his fans, will share the space with Rajini for the fourth time after Chandramukhi, Kuselan and Sivaji.

The Rajinikanth publicist, Riaz K Ahmed, went on Twitter on Monday to criticize false information on the cast the film is tentatively titled Thalaivar167. He wrote: "Dear media friends, rumors about the distribution of # Thalaivar167 are not authentic. For now, only #Nayanthara has been trapped in the movie! Please do not announce the news until you have received an official press release regarding the completeness of the cast confirmed @RIAZtheboss "

Thalaivar167 is directed by AR Murugadoss, known to have directed successful films like Ghajini, Sarkar and Thuppaki. He will team up with superstar Rajinikanth for the first time. Director of photography Ace, Santhosh Sivan, and composer Anirudh Ravichandran were also involved in the film.

According to some sources, Rajinikanth would play a police officer in the film, which is expected to hit the floor this month. The film will be financed by Lyca Productions.

Superstar Rajnikanth was last seen playing against a hostel guard in Petta.
