Neena was talking with Rajeev Masand in an interview when she revealed that every day had been a struggle when she was home without any work. The actor added that her fight had as a corollary the fact that she knew many people who could easily get her to sign for their films, but none of them did it. The actor also mentioned an incident in which she lost a film by Shekhar Kapur because she had never taken the initiative to call her to work. However, when she returned to Mumbai, she never received a call from the filmmaker. She added that later, when they met, he told her that he had hired someone else for the role because she had never called him back. Neena said, "When I returned, I did not call him because he said he would call me. And later, when he met me, he said, "Idiot! You missed that role. "So, I said," But, you were supposed to call. Even now that she has made a surprising comeback with her performance in Badhaai Ho, Neena feels that there is "something missing".
