We spotted the actress Deepika Padukone in her Chhapaak avatar in some new filming photos, published by director Meghna Gulzar on Instagram. Chhapaak has just completed his program and the director attaches some memorable insights from the shooting of the film to an emotional note that she addressed to the main cast – Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Mbadey. "And we packed Chhapaak Malti … Amol … I will carry you with me Thank you for your faith and for being poured into our film!" Chhapaak is inspired by the life and experiences of Laxmi Agarwal, survivor of an acid attack – Deepika plays the protagonist named Malti, while Vikrant plays a supporting role.

Chhapaak marks Deepika Padukone's first film with Raazi's director . The film is scheduled to be released on January 10 next year, when it should come into conflict with Ajana Devgn Taanaji: The Unknown Warrior .
