New details on how plans were changed for the title for the first time in raw women at WrestleMania 35

– In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer radio (via WrestlingInc.com), Dave Meltzer explained in more detail how the main event planned for WrestleMania 35 had recently changed. Originally, the plan was apparently a gradual build for Charlotte Flair against Ronda Rousey in a head-to-head match.

This plan began almost a year ago at WrestleMania 34, which saw Flair cleanly beat Asuka and end his streak of undefeated victories. WWE was also preparing a Natalya feud against Rousey, who would have seen Natalya turn around. However, the observer notes that the death of Natalya's father, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, changed the WWE's plan to turn Natalya into Rousey's heel.

Previously, Rousey would face Becky Lynch in a unique Champion vs. Champion match last November at Survivor Series. However, Lynch was injured and suffered a concussion due to a punch from Nia Jax. As a result, Charlotte Flair replaced Lynch at the last minute in the match.

According to Meltzer, the end of the match between Flair and Rousey in the Survivor Series was the same as the end of the match, when it would be Lynch against Rousey. Flair would go crazy with a kendo stick. The reaction to the match apparently prompted WWE to change its plans again.

At one point, WWE wanted to book Rousey against Flair at Royal Rumble, then Rousey against Lynch one-on-one at WrestleMania 35. These plans were dropped because WWE officials decided they wanted Flair, Rousey and Lynch to all be part of the same match at WrestleMania.

According to another Observer Radio report, WWE plans to add Charlotte Flair to the match at some point to fight for the Raw women's title in the Triple Threat match at WrestleMania 35.

Of course, Meltzer noted in the past, "projects can change". As of now, the match announced for the Raw Women's Title is Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35.
