During the opening weekend, NGK made a 3.01 Rs crore collection from 417 shows in Chennai , reports Behindwoods. This collection is considered above average for a movie starring Suriya. The creation of Selvaraghavan is open to mixed reviews and the success of the film depends on the response of viewers to the bilingual film over the next 10 days.
Prabhu Deva-directorial Devi 2 is in second place at the Chennai box office. The film garnered in Rs 63.29 lakh from 195 shows. Like NGK, the Tamannaah Bhatia-starrer has also opened to mixed reviews.
The Hollywood movie Godzilla: The King of Monsters made a collection of 57.46 lakh on 111 performances in Chennai. The American musical fantasy Aladdin entered his second weekend collecting 21.74 lakh Rs of 72 shows to bring his total to a crore of Rs 1.71.
Another Hollywood movie, Monster, has already reaped 5 , 61 Rs lakh of 66 shows. The total collection of the film rises to Rs 1,13 crore.
Vivek Oberoi Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, earned Rs 1.21 lakh on 15 issues and raised his total to Rs 8.73 lakh.
