The veteran actor Soni Razdan believes that his upcoming film "No Fathers in Kashmir" will give the public better understanding of the daily lives of the valley's inhabitants torn by conflict.
The film, directed by Ashvin Kumar, revolves around the love story of two 16-year-olds in search of their missing father.
"Kashmir deserves our attention. This film deserves to be seen … It will help people better understand Kashmir.Even I was more curious and interested to know Kashmir when I got on board, "Razdan told PTI.
"Our film is unique, but I hope it will draw audiences to the theaters because it's about a film focused on Razdan." neither a commercial film nor an art film, it's somewhere in between, "she added.
"No Fathers in Kashmir" made a tumultuous trip to theaters, facing problems in obtaining approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
Originally offered an "A" certificate, but manufacturers protested. On March 11th, after two hearings in December and January, the Film Certification Appeals Tribunal (FCAT) announced that the film was worthy of U / A certification.
Razdan said that she always felt excited when one of her projects came to the screen. but thinks that the influx of digital media has given filmmakers another platform to present their work.
"It's always wonderful to have a theatrical release, many filmmakers want it, we want people to go to the movies." (But) The digital space is becoming more relevant and people are watching a lot of things on the Web I think nothing will be lost for humanity if the film does not come out at the theater, "she said.
The actor thanks Kumar for bringing a nice video. and the comforting story of Kashmir in the foreground.
"Hats off to Ashvin for shooting this movie at that time, when Kashmir was in a very bad space, the valley was almost closed, it was difficult to turn there and take it out after all the questions of the censorship council ".
