It has been more than a year since Bollywood star Irrfan Khan spoke about his courageous fight against cancer. The actor, who is currently under treatment and is recovering well, has been surrounded by rumors of a possible return of the film in the near future. One report even claimed that the actor had returned to India to start working on the next installment of "Hindi Medium 2".

However, a recent report states that the actor will not be part of the much-awaited sequel so soon. A friend of the actor reportedly told a media portal that Irrfan was reacting to treatment and that he would not be returning to the cinema for some time, as the healing process was slow and exhausting. Even after his convalescence, the actor will not be able to return to work for more than a year. The rest is out of the question, at least in the immediate future.
The report goes on to say that Saket Chowdhary, director of Hindi Medium, also does not intend to direct the sequel.
