The unspoken rule of Bollywood is no longer undisputed, says the box office. Or should we say that the Bollywood Khans have recently given more misses than shots, as in the case of race 3, Thugs of Hindostan and Zero. It's the content that governs today, and the mere power of Khan is not enough to attract enough audience on the theaters to make a lot of money given their colossal production budgets. Instead, films like Ranveer Singh's Simmba, released in December 2018, started the year 2019 with an impressive start. However, it is not until Uri: The Surgical Attack enters the theater with his high josh that 2019 really begins and there seems to have been no stopping since. It seems that the Vicky Kaushal-starrer unleashed the beating squad during the first quarter.

The period between January and March gave more hits than the first quarter of 2018 without any Khan being seen. From Uri to Kesari, many films have seduced the public and encouraged cash registers to ring. As a result, the first quarter recorded an impressive crore of 1060.72 rupees. This is an excellent box office collection, compared to R838.81 crore for the first quarter of 2018.

Various factors led to the rise of the moolah. One of the main reasons is the availability of good products and a wide range of contents. While movie buffs were patriotic for a weekend, they also went to the movies to watch a musical. It is undeniable that the Khans have collected a large number of films and expect gigantic collections at the box office. But the new league of Bollywood stars slowly relieves this pressure from the Khans. Although we saw Ranveer Singh do it twice last year, with Padmaavat and Simmba, he missed us a lot with the Khans in the first quarter of 2019.

His avatar, rapper, was loved well before movie. even released. Who can forget the nation reciting Apna Time Aayega? The transformation of the actor from Khilji and Simmba to Murad has astonished everyone.

Ranveer was joined by Vicky Kaushal this quarter. The star of Uri has left everyone in shock by carrying the drama of war on his own shoulders and beyond 200 crore. It can not be denied that the Indian public loves a well executed patriotic film. Add a hint of war drama and hit the target. Vicky's Uri was an example. The "Josh" was quick to wrap the country in a patriotic spirit.

Although there were no Khans to raise the first quarter, there were two common pins in 2018 and 2019 – Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar. While Ajay scored the first quarter of 2018 with Raid, he resumed the first quarter of 2019 with Total Dhamaal. The amusing and senseless comedy brought everyone to the theaters, which earned him Rs 153.58. On his side, Akshay fuels the patriotic spirit of all with Kesari.

While the first quarter may seem without Khan, the next few months look promising for Khans, including Salman Khan. The actor will take charge of the Eid box office with Bharat. Let's wait and see if the tables are running.
