The first part of NTR Biopic was a wet box office hangman. The result shocked the trade and the manufacturers. So, there was no waiting on the second part.
Manufacturers have also made no publicity. In the middle of low hopes, the second part "NTR Mayanayakudu" was screened.
Let's see if it's any good.
History:
In 1982, NTR created the Telugu Desam Party. With his populist projects and his charisma, NTR becomes CM in 1983. When his wife needs a cure for cancer, he takes her to the United States.
While his wife was being treated for cancer and was having surgery on his heart disease, Nadendla Bhaskar Rao's home is preparing a coup against him.
Nadendla takes power and becomes CM with the support of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. How NTR comes to power by leading a popular movement forms the rest of the drama.
Performances of artists:
Nandamuri Balakrishna has perfectly described the role of his father, the NT Rama Rao. Unlike the first part, Balakrishna is completely visible in the old avatar and there is no accompaniment. Given the current age of Balakrishna, he is perfectly suited to the role of the politician of NTR.
Vidya Balan, devoted wife of NTR, gets more footage after Balakrishna and she brings an emotional quotient to the story with her nuanced performance.
Sachin Khedekar as Nadendla Bhaskar Rao, the villain of this story, steals the show. Rana as Nara Chandra Babu Naidu gains more space on the screen during the second half.
Technical Excellence:
As we have already noted in the first part, film and production design receives good marks. Keeravani's music is quite simple. Editing is better in this part.
The dialogues of Sai Madhav Burra sound theatrical and artificial, especially the dialogue on NTR that says Basavatarakam insisted on giving birth to 12 children in the hope that his eldest son died again. drama show.
Highlights:
Balakrishna and Vidya Balan
Disadvantage:
Documentary Sensation
Glorification
Babu Bajana
Analysis
In recent interviews with the media, director Krish stated that Valmiki "Ramayanam" was the reference for writing NTR's Biopic script while Valmiki ended history with Lord Rama's Pattabhishekam.
Similarly, Krish restricted the political life of NTR to just three years – from 1982 to 1985, in order to avoid the controversial aspects of the later life of NTR.
Not to show the life of Nara Chandra Babu Naidu in 1995. coup d'etat against NTR and the marriage of Lakshmi Parvathi by NTR, Krish ended the second part with the death of Basavatarakam deceased from the suites from cancer in 1985. This gave Krish some leeway to make this film a biopic in its own right.
He's rather focused on the coup of Nadendla Bhaskara Rao State and made it a villain for all the reasons that dictate.
Although the episode of Nadendla is faithful to history, if we excuse a staging and freedoms In stride, the second half of the drama turns into a propaganda vehicle for Nara Chandrababu Naidu .
Krish used this film to introduce Chandrababu as a person who helped NTR to strengthen the party and that he had planned everything
Krish also wrote useless scenes showing the virtue of Naidu – as how the congress party had not given him more chances despite increased loyalty and how NTR had discovered his "talent" as he was about to leave politics. to manage a hotel in Tirupathi. At one point, it seems that the film turns into CBN's NTR into an NTR biopic.
Coming to the main plot of the film: the second part presents two parallel aspects. One is the strong relationship between the wife and the husband, Basavatarakam and NTR. The other is the rise of NTR as a formidable political leader.
The first is told in a more engaging and clear way, the second is told clumsily and documentary.
It is undeniable that NTR created the story by coming to power in the nine months following the formation of his party, but the scenes of canvbading and the sequences involving him and Indira Gandhi are filled with dramaturgy, less than engagement.
Besides Babu bajana in the second half, he also describes the documentary style the political events of 1984 made us lose interest in that. Despite a reasonable time of execution, the slowdown in the second half gives a long film.
The positive aspects of the film are its shorter duration, the moments of Balakrishna and Vidya Balan and the representation of certain sequences. However, the film takes too much cinematographic freedom, as Doordarshan, who posts newsletters for each seat. There were no such bulletins on television at the time. And besides, the description of Chandrababu Naidu is far from the truth.
In the end, "Mayanayakudu" becomes both NTR of CBN and NTR of Basavatarakam (since the film begins with Basavatarakam and ends with his death) and glorifies
The film also becomes an exercise aimed at present Chandrababu Naidu as the most reliable allocated of the NTR.
In summary: CBN Maha Karyakartha
