The studio announced Friday that the seventh film in the series would be released July 23, 2021 and that the eighth movie would open August 5, 2022. Christopher McQuarrie is back to make the two films from his own scripts. Actor Tom Cruise will also be back as IMF agent Ethan Hunt.
