Alfonso Cuaron won the best achievement for Roma bringing to four the number of victories he won at the Oscars. Cuaron was voted Best Director of Gravity in 2014, becoming the first Hispanic and Mexican to win the Oscar for Best Director. Since then, Mexican directors Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu ( Birdman of the Revenant ) and Guillermo del Toro ( of The Form of Water ) have both won the prize , which earned them fifth best achievement for a Mexican director.
