Pakistan will host six matches of the Emerging Nations Cup of Asia in December, after India refused to play in the country, citing security reasons.
A Pakistan cricket committee said that BCCI had refused to send its team to Karachi or Lahore for the tournament that features the best emerging talent from Asian countries.
He said that India would play all its matches in Sri Lanka, the final being also scheduled in Colombo.
Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong are grouped with Pakistan for the tournament phase in Karachi, while Sri Lanka, India, Afghanistan figure in the other group in Colombo.
The official said that in Karachi three matches would be held at the national stadium, although it is currently undergoing a deep renovation and three matches at the Southend cricket stadium in Defense.
"An appropriate safety plan has been prepared for the visiting teams. They will be secured throughout their stay in Karachi from 4 to 10 December. "
Another board official said the Emerging Nations Cup was another opportunity for the PAC. demonstrate its ability to provide maximum security to international cricket teams.
