Discussing with Mid Day, Tripathi explained how his decision to join the film was out of respect and love for Irrfan and his friendship with Dinoo (Dinesh Vijan). He will be seen playing the role of a wheeler dealer, Tony, and helping Irrfan with his daughter in the film to travel to the UK. When asked how Pankaj Tripathi had become a staple in all of Dinesh's films, the producer explained how it had become almost impossible to conceptualize a film without him and that he was his lucky mascot.

Dinesh explained how he always finds one way or the other to get him into his films and that he was very happy to participate in the film given his love for Irrfan. the first day of filming in Udaipur with Irrfan had been rather emotional.
