Notes: The LPGA's second oldest major dates back to 1955 when it began as an LPGA championship. The PGA of America is joining the LPGA Tour to hold the event in 2015 and has changed its name. … Kemper Lakes is the place where the late Payne Stewart won his first major, the PGA Championship in 1989. … This is the third year in a row that the PGA Women's Championship has place on a course that previously hosted a PGA Championship. The last two years, it took place at Olympia Fields (where Walter Hagen won in 1925, Jerry Barber in 1961) and Sahalee (Vijay Singh in 1998). … Hataoka's six-shot win in Arkansas was the biggest margin on the LPGA circuit this season. … Unless withdrawn, the women's PGA features the top 100 players on the LPGA list for the third consecutive year in the 156-player field. … Ariya Jutanugarn, who won the US Women's Open in the playoffs, will attempt to become the first woman to win consecutive tournaments since Lydia Ko won the Evian Championship at the end of 2015 and ANA Inspiration early 2016 .. The last player to win consecutive tournaments the same year was Inbee Park in 2015 (Women's PGA, British Women's Open).
