Based in Mumbai, photographer Rafi (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), settling outside the Gateway of India, urges Miloni (Sanya Malhotra) to take a picture. Miloni, who is slowly moving away, agrees. The shutter goes off and the story begins.
Miloni, a smart young woman, is about to become a CA. But something seems terribly disturbed in his behavior. She is unhappy with the current pattern or perhaps for some time now, and disinterest is just beginning to show on her face. It is removed from things that concern it.

Rafi, on the other hand, does not have the necessary financial means and adds to the pressure that it is suggested to get married, which, as we have learned, is caused by his grandmother (Farrukh Jaffar) .
Rafi gives his picture to Miloni during their first meeting and asks him to meet his grandmother, while she claims to be her lover. Miloni is in agreement. It is now up to the grandmother to tie them together, while continuing to take charge.
Batra, once again, tried to create a story about the meeting of strangers. An unusual friendship that turns into something substantial. Maybe, maybe not. Can a Photograph tell us more than we can see?
Written and directed by Ritesh Batra, The photograph opens on March 15. Watch Photo trailer here:
