NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court denied Friday the registration of a request to suspend the request to suspend publication of a biographical document concerning Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A bench led by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said, "What a biopic we did not see, maybe we'll watch it over the weekend, so you talk about it."

The court told the lawyer, who had raised the plea for an urgent registration, that the case would be reviewed during the hearing.

The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday to hear on April 8 a plea from the head of Congress asking that the publication of the biopic be postponed to the end of Lok Sabha's upcoming polls, alleging that he was designed to "manipulate, influence and impress voters".

Titled "PM Narendra Modi", the biopic, whose release is scheduled for April 5, has been postponed to a later date, announced its producer Sandip Singh on Thursday.

The High Court Court of Madhya Pradesh in Indore on Wednesday rejected a plea for the ban on release.

The Bombay High Court also ruled Monday a plea in favor of an adjournment of the liberation of the biopic, indicating that the electoral commission would take up the problem.
