Pokemon Co. was afraid that people would not want to see Mr. Mime live in Detective Pikachu

Detective Pikachu contains many Pokemon, but none of them hold the attention that Mr. Mime has attracted. Mr. Mime is such a strange character overall, but the strangest description to date may well be that of Detective Pikachu.

See a semi-realistic Mr. Mime is a shock, but in a positive sense! According to Benji Samit, a screenwriter for Detective Pikachu, Pokemon Co. did not think people would want anything to do with Mr. Mime.

They were like, "Are you sure people really want to see live action, Mr. Mime?" The film would not be the same without Mr. Mime!
