Q. Tell us about your first Oru Adaar Love movie.
Oru Adaar Love will be released simultaneously in four languages. We have been shooting for almost a year and expectations are very high. We did our best. The film will be an entertainment package and the story will focus primarily on school life. It gives you good times that you can understand.
Q. How do you handle the 'wink girl' tag?
The 'wink girl' tag helps me a lot, certainly, with recognition and popularity. But I would like to become too big this label one day. At first, it was difficult to accept that something like this happened. I'm trying to enjoy it.
Q. How did your family manage popularity?
We were trying to manage it together. Because everything was new to me and my family. It is true that I have not received any mobile phone or anything. I was under house arrest for a few days and I was not allowed to go out because my parents were on. Media representatives came to my door without even telling me. I ended up coming back from my college and giving them interviews in my uniform. I had to do that! People came to my door and asked, "Is the house of this Priya Varrier? Can we see her? Q. Do you think that social media presence is necessary to stay relevant?

The director and producer were very tense and suddenly they called me to tell me that they were pulling the song. We were about to remove the song. Q. Were you also contacted by filmmakers from other film industries?
I have received many offers from different industries, including Tollywood. But then, I could not do anything because, for a year, we are working on Oru Adaar Love. When the song was released, we only shot for the song and the whole movie was gone. That's why I could not engage in any other film in the past year.
In Telugu films, offers were rare. Even now, there are discussions going on. I missed an opportunity with Allu Arjun sir. When the viral song was published, there was an offer to work with him. But I could not do it because I worked for Oru Adaar Love.
Q. What was wrong with Ranveer Singh's Simmba?
There were rumors that I had been offered a chance to Simmba. But I have not received any offer of this kind in person.
Q. What do you think of the controversy over Sridevi Bungalow?
I heard about it from others. I have not received any notice in person. I would not want my film to become a controversy. In the end, everything is publicity. But still, I would prefer to stay away from negativity. It's up to the director and the producer to handle these issues. I'm just playing the character that's been given to me.
Q. Are there any references to Sridevi's death or incidents in his life?
If the teaser shows some familiarity, then it's an element that would make the audience watch the movie. There must be something that creates a curiosity for people to watch the movie. It is therefore simply the imagination and the creativity of the director. I would not want my films to become controversial. I heard the script. It was a woman's story and I think it would help me a lot to show people how I can perform. That's why I chose the film.
Q. You have become the most googued personality in India. How do you handle the loss of privacy?
I would not say that there is a loss of privacy. Initially, there was a curfew at home with which we can not go out as before. But I did not want to give up those things. I like a lot going out with my friends and doing all those normal things.
Q. How do you handle trolls and criticism?
At first, it bothered me and I did not know how to handle it because it was the same people who had given me so much love, then they started to belittle me. It was discouraging at first. But now I agree with all that.
