Railway Minister Piyush Goyal to Follow Operations from Rail Bhavan Office

The Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal, would soon be able to monitor the entire rail network, including train traffic and revenues of the national carrier, in his office through software.

The system could also become available to the general public as soon as the railways plan to install such screens in its premises to promote transparency, officials said.

The software & # 39; eDrishti & # 39; was developed by the Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) and will allow Goyal to directly track any information at the click of a mouse, said a senior official.

The software would give the minister a bird's eye view of freight and pbadenger revenues, cargo loading and unloading, punctuality, major projects, grievances, live trains, station information and much more, said the manager.

Even basic IRCTC kitchens, the railroad restoration branch, were connected to the software.

"As soon as the Minister clicks on the IRCTC kitchen option on the scoreboard, the live video of the basic kitchens of the Railway Catering and Tourism Society of India (IRCTC) will appear at the Screen, "said the manager.

The decision to connect the kitchens is due to the complaints received by the railways concerning the quality of the food, added the manager.

The Minister could also see live the status of reserved and non-reserved pbadengers traveling on the train.

Similarly, by opening the "Live Trains" tab, the Minister would receive information on the status of live trains.

"By clicking on the Live Trains tab, a dashboard will be displayed to show the various trains in progress as well as other information, namely the station of origin , the destination station, the current station and its current status, "said the official.
