A remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's cult clbadic, Chupke Chupke, is supposed to embody Rajkummar Rao in the role originally played by Dharmendra. The original film was also performed by Amitabh Bachchan, Asrani, Sharmila Tagore, Jaya Bachchan and Om Prakash.

A Mumbai Mirror report quoted a source as saying: "Chupke Chupke is an iconic film and one of the favorite movies of many, notably Rajkummar. He loved the idea of a remake and agreed to participate. He will have Raj in both avatars. The script is being finalized, while the director and the rest of the cast are not locked yet, but the team is very excited about it, "says a source close to the development.

Bhushan Kumar and Luv of the T series Ranjan of celebrity Pyaar Ka Punchnama collaborated for the remake, the tabloid added. The original film tells the story of Professor Parimal (Dharmendra), who wants to deceive his wife's brother-in-law because she is too impressed by him and pretends to know everything. Parimal wants to break the aura around the brother-in-law and prove that even he can be fooled.

This is not the first time a report about a remake of Chupke Chupke has surfaced: in 2013, filmmaker Umesh Shukla planned to redo the film and would have even played in Paresh Rawal for the role of Om Prakash. However, the plans never materialized.

Seen for the last time alongside Sonam Kapoor in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, Rajkummar Rao is currently working on several films, including Made in China, Rooh Afza and Turram Khan. He will soon be seen in front of Kangana Ranaut in Mental Hai Kya.
