It took a long time and changed decisions before director Ayan Mukerji decided to call his film Brahmastra. The movie was previously called Dragon and even the names of the characters were different.

On Sunday, Ayan shared an image of Ranbir Kapoor's first film lead actor. Ranbir is seen with much longer hair and a dark expression in the film. Ayan revealed that the character of Ranbir was earlier called Rumi, then changed to Shiva.

"Rumi. First, he was Rumi. Rumi with long hair. This image comes from a preliminary evaluation test of the film. Rumi said: "Love is the bridge between you and everything …", and this feeling is the basis on which we started to build the protagonist of this film … But then, there was a new inspiration, new thoughts … Dragon became Brahmāstra, we gave a haircut to Ranbir, and Rumi became … Shiva, "he subtitled the post.
