One of the most iconic studios in the film industry was Raj Kapoor's studio RK. Some time ago, the Kapoor clan announced that it was seeking to sell the family property which was of immense emotional value to it. Several reports were reported indicating that the name of the new owner was kept secret and that it would not be revealed until the finalization of the details. One day ago, it was announced that Raj Kapoor's iconic RK Studios had been sold to Godrej Properties.
While the last Ganpati Pooja at RK Studios was an emotional moment for all, it was clear that the Kapoor clan was ready to let go of this legendary studio. The reasons behind this film from the Kapoor clan were not really clear until now. Randhir Kapoor finally broke his silence and revealed the reasons for the sale of the property. In an interview with Times Of India, the main actor revealed that studio maintenance was becoming too heavy.
He also mentioned that a fire in the studio in 2017 had actually damaged many valuables and that there was nothing to save. So, it was decided to give up. Randhir Kapoor also mentioned that Raj Kapoor always mentioned that "the show must go on" and that they decided to sell the property. "It was becoming difficult to manage, even though we did everything to keep it going. The fire of 2017 destroyed everything that was important, and from that moment it became harder, "said Randhir Kapoor.

Randhir said, "My father believed that it was time to go with time ; he always said that the show should continue, whatever happens. That's exactly what we did when it came to RK Studios. We all have an emotional attachment to what our father had built for us, but it was the need of the hour. The property was in good hands in the past and continues to be there today. My best wishes go to the new owners. I hope that they will respect the legacy of the land that they have bought from us. RK Studios, located in Chembur, Mumbai, are now officially sold to Godrej Properties.
