The Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement that a shootout had been reported around 3:20 pm. PDT in the area of ​​Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard, and that three victims were transported to a hospital where one of the victims was declared dead.

A dispatcher from the police department refused to confirm the identity of the victims and a spokesperson did not answer the questions.

Hussle, whose real name is Ermias Asghedom, grew up in the south of Los Angeles and often spoke of being a member of a street gang during his teenage years. According to media reports, he has since become a community organizer.
