Dev starring Karthi and Rakul Preet Singh is a love story on a background of adventure. It has vibrant visuals and a stellar star cast, but turns out to be a misadventure due to a dull script.
What is it?
Dev (Karthi) is a guy who loves adventures. He falls in love with a contractor Meghna (Rakul). She hates men and ignores Dev at first. But he convinces her to give him a chance. They are separated when everything seems to be going well. How do they bring together the remaining forms of history.
Performances:
Karthi is beautiful as an urban guy dressed in fashionable clothes. His performance is flawless. Rakul is also suitable for the role of a wise businesswoman. Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishna played their roles in supporting roles. The actors who played Karthi's friends did a good job.
Technical Aspects:
Rajath Ravishankar 's only focused on the visual aspect of the film and did not care much about writing a screenplay. The story never goes forward until the pre-climax. The film is visually rich, but it is a wet primer in terms of direction and scenario. Harris Jayaraj's music is a saving grace in addition to a superb cinematography. Each image is rich in large production values. The editing is bad and the dialogs only make sense in parts.

Analysis:
Dev begins as an adventurous film, but ends up as s & 39 erase and focus on a love story. It is very bland with stock characters and cliché conflicts. We can easily guess where this happens when Dev and Meghana meet for the first time. The story of useless and uninhibited love lasts two and a half hours without drama or excitement.
With the exception of great visuals and good music, Dev turns out to be a tedious dish where even the pleasant venues could not engage viewers. The conflict only settles before the pre-climax and the duration of the race is unnecessarily lengthened with the protagonist's latest adventure.
Even the Himalayan trek in the climax does not engage because of insufficient visual effects and an unimaginative direction. The end is also very weak without appropriate drama or a high emotional. Dev is a movie that will bother you from beginning to end and will be unanimously hated for its useless script and direction. Even star actors could not save him from the end.
