The cast of Devi 2: Prabhudheva, Tamannaah Bhatia, Kovai Sarala
Director of the movie Devi 2: Vijay
Devi 2 movie clbadification: 2 stars
Good In the second half of Devi 2, Kovai Sarala's lawyer, Lalitha, tells another key figure: "Do not ask logical questions. Just enjoy the magic. "Keep chanting this mantra in your head and you may end up enjoying the sequel to Devi (2016).
Devi 2 marks a radical change in Vijay's style of filming. In the film, the comedy scenes are very noisy, the lyrics of the songs are sneaky, the fight sequences are very dramatic and there is little evidence of the subtlety of the director that we have seen in his previous films. In simple terms, Devi 2 looks like a film made by a sober version of filmmaker Raghava Lawrence. However, unlike the Kanchana series, we are not treated with large-scale blood in this film. It is a major relief.
Devi 2 begins with a preview of the previous movie to refresh the audience's memory. Krishna (Prabhudheva) still lives in the same house as his wife Devi (Tamannaah Bhatia) was possessed by the ghost of Ruby, an aspiring actor. He now has a three-year-old daughter, Pooja, and he almost leads a happy life. But he still fears that Ruby will come back to haunt his family. For fear, he does not leave the house and does not let his wife go out. You know why if you saw the first movie. Remember, he had an agreement with Ruby that she should not disturb her family when they are inside the house. So he works from home, orders food and supplies online for home delivery and … waits. He has not left home in the last three years? Not even once? What about the moment when her daughter was born? Or when he took his wife out for regular checkups when she was pregnant? What about the time he had to take his newborn to the hospital for a routine checkup? Or when did he have to present at his office? I can think of at least 100 reasons why he had to leave the house. If Ruby has not tried to bother him for so long, why would she haunt Krishna now? You can ask all these good questions. And each time you start having rational thoughts, just remember the mantra: "Do not ask logical questions. Just enjoy the magic. "If you're a movie buff and brazen movies make you shudder, it's better to watch the Star Wars or Sherlock Holmes series again.
Despite his many follies, Devi 2 responds anyway. Compared to the recent visual revulsion, Kanchana 3. The jokes in the movie are usually pure, with the exception of some racist Chinese jokes directed against the look of Kovai Sarala. A sensual dance performance by Tamannaah Bhatia to reproduce the song "Ready Ready", as well as scenes in which the hero follows and harbades girls are also problematic.
If you are generous enough to forgive all these false steps and to be able to watch the film with an open mind, you may like Tamannaah Bhatia and Prabhudheva 's flawless performances in their respective characters. Kovai Sarala repeats his proven gesture of inconsiderate tingling in fear after meeting a ghost. His performance and the short presence of RJ Balaji prevent the film from becoming a totally wet layer.
And, once the movie is over, the credits begin to turn and you breathe a sigh of relief and you are about to leave the theater. Vijay drops a major clue. He may be working on Devi 3.
