RJ Balaji is clever. From marketing at the time of publication to writing, the talent of Radio Jockey, become an actor, Balaji shines through. LKG is a news item that would sell like a hot cupcake … for the moment. LKG is based on social media trends and is filled with Easter eggs. From Vijay fans to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, everyone is controlled, which makes LKG successful. But the film does not consist of only these Easter eggs. There is also a story … convincing.
Lalgudi Karupiah Gandhi is a 29 year old counselor, witty and intelligent. He is popular in his parish and belongs to the ruling party. Even a letter of recommendation from the Prime Minister's Office claiming a seat has just been rejected by a local people's school, but LKG is giving him five seats. He's not very powerful, but he knows the ropes.
LKG does not want to wait long to succeed in politics. He wants this to happen now. His main influence is his father, a failed politician. Nanjil Sampath, a real life politician, is brilliantly named in this role and does not have to do much; Just being on the screen at the right time brings out the laughter. Gandhi is not inspired by his father, but carefully builds his life to not become like his father.
LKG will therefore knock on the door of a company, which will allow it to develop a strategy allowing it to gain ground, not only in its hall, but in all the state. There he meets Sarala Munusmay, the heroine (Priya Anandh).

One of LKG's problems is its inconsistency. Sometimes the film is completely delirious and caricatural and suddenly, please take it seriously. One minute, Gandhi appears as a young serious and desperate, and the next moment he pretends to be "RJ Balaji". Yet both sounds are well suited to the actor.
In terms of performance, RJ Balaji only plays on his strengths. He does not do things simply because he's the movie's hero. He brilliantly escapes things that would end up laughing at him. Priya Anand as Sarala does not have much to say, although she plays an important role. She looks rigid and could have offered some more expressions.
The music of Leon James helps enormously the film. Ethanai Kaalam Thaan Emathuvaar is apt to tone the film and is not used generously. On top of that, the bottom score could not have been better for this political satire.
LKG is fun, but comes with an expiration date.
