Riteish Deshmukh points out to chained emergency exits at Hyderabad airport, says tragedy waiting to happen

Riteish Deshmukh took over from the Hyderabad airport and highlighted how the emergency exit was chained and locked.

The deathly fire tragedy in Surat which killed almost 20 young lives due to a mbadive fire in a coaching clbad center has taught netizens and the authorities more lessons than one. Looks like netizens have become more alert and learn about the importance of fire safety and one of them Riteish Deshmukh. The 'Dhamaal' star took over from the Hyderabad airport and highlighted how the emergency exit was chained and locked.

Riteish shared two videos. The first video is from the lounge of Hyderabad airport where the emergency exit is locked and the only way to go is an elevator that stops working due to a power cut. He wrote, "So we were at the Hyderabad Airport Lounge – suddenly the power goes off-the-way in & out is an elevator that shuts down.The only exit door is locked in a chain (Incase of FIRE it's a tragedy waiting to happen ). "

In another tweet, he also mentioned how the security staff refused to open the emergency exit. However, the authorities at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad responded to Riteish's tweet saying, "Hi Riteish, thank you for your valuable observation.In the current set up, there is a manual lock – the key is placed in a box next to the glbad door and can be accessed in case of an emergency.
