Robert Smith gives a hilarious interview to an over-excited anchor, Twitter has all the answers

Red carpet interviews are usually the scourge of celebrities in which they are forced to answer the most insane questions amidst a delirious crowd and must act with enthusiasm for the benefit of the cameras. However, Robert Smith, the leader of the British group The Cure, which folds the genres, had none.

The Cure was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at an event gathering celebrities Friday night, but this news was overshadowed by Smith's interview on the red carpet, in a clip that has been viewed more than nine million times.

You can see (and hear) an over-excited American anchor bubbling with enthusiasm as she guides a clearly reluctant Smith for a short interview in which she asks him if he is enthusiastic. A puzzled Smith simply says, "No, not to hear about it."

The Cure is known for his melancholic melodies and heartbreaking lyrics, Smith's reaction was not a surprise to his legions of fans around the world. Indeed, all over the world, people loved Smith's ruthless childbirth and his refusal to play and did not let it go.

The Cure – known for its successes in the new wave, notably Lovesong – During its 40 years of existence, the group has resorted to several range swaps, but it has always included the leader Smith. Aged 59, known for his groaning voice and deadly complexion, he is struck by his black hair and raccoon eyeliner.

Smith makes a thank you list before taking his guitar for the band's performance. "I would rather use the time allotted to play music," he said, before telling reporters that he "was not really sure of everything."
