Simmba is on the brink of breaking box office records and becoming the greatest success of director Rohit Shetty's career. Like his film, Shetty also seduced the last annual Mumbai Police Culture Festival Umang 2019 where he donated Rs 51 lakh to the Mumbai Police welfare fund. It is thought that the money poured comes from the collections of the director's last film Simmba in which Ranveer Singh tries the title role of Sangram Bhalerao.

Shetty, along with Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn presented the check on behalf of his production house Rohit Shetty Picturez to the police commissioner at the event. In fact, three of the director's most successful films feature a police officer. His crime drama films Singham (2011), Singham Returns (2014) and Simmba (2018) all started making big numbers at the box office and received praise from the critics.

Like every year, the Umang 2019 annual festival was a celebrity affair. Among the celebrities present at the event are Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Madhuri Dixit, Karisma Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Farhan Akhtar, Kartik Aaryan, Kriti San Urmila Matondkar, Yami Gautam, Nora Fatehi, Rajput Sushant Singh, Raveena Tandon, Anil Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurana, Parineeti Chopra and Sachin Tendulkar.
