Director Rohit Shetty was honored on Friday with HT's most stylish director award at the hottest HT India night in Mumbai. He made everyone laugh with his thank you speech with a funny interpretation of his victory.
"Thank you Hindustan Times and thank you to the jury. Last year, I had the biggest success, it's my first prize, "he said. Actor Ranveer Singh, who presented the award to Rohit, laughed a lot and applauded the filmmaker for his humor. "Very emotional. Thank you Karan (Johar). By the way, it's a secret to us that when we were shooting this movie, Simmba, I told Karan that if the film was a resounding success, you have to give me clothes every month. He said "Yes, yes". And I thought it was just … well hi phenk raha hai. But every month, ladies and gentlemen, a suitcase comes to my house with all the branded material. So, the price of the bola nai toh chalo suitcase to aaraha hai. Aaj award bhi mill gaya, "said Rohit.
Rohit and Ranveer's Simmba were a resounding success, reaching as high as 350 rupees at the box office. Sara Ali Khan also played the female lead.

Ranveer also won HT India's most elegant reader choice award. He received the award from cricket star Kapil Dev. After accepting the prize, Ranveer imitated the Kapil bowling game.
The other big winners of the evening were Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri, Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and others.
Rohit will now work with Akshay in Sooryavanshi and is already working on another installment of the Golmaal franchise. We will then see Ranveer in 83 where he plays Kapil Dev, then in Takht of Karan Johar.
