. Reigns was forced to give up his universal title last year while he was leaving the company to resume his fight against leukemia. Reigns had promised that he would come back better than ever, and The Big Dog did not disappoint at all. Reigns returned on the road to WrestleMania 35 and defeated Drew McIntyre at the Show of Shows.
He was selected for the blue mark in the Superstar Shakeup in what has been described as the biggest acquisition in the history of SmackDown Live.

The heart of the problem
Speaking with Sporting News, Roman Reigns said that he was strange to be on the shelf. He felt selfish because he was missing his "other family" from the WWE, just as he had to do his usual routine.
It was weird because I was surrounded by my family, but I felt egoistic in a strange way because I my other family missed me. I missed the idea of being what I was and having the settings, my daily routine, my schedule and my weekly routine. And I knew that I was not going to catch a plane for a live event, that I could not watch TV and that I was not going to see everyone.
